These cats were first registered at the International Ragdoll Cat Association, headed by Ann Baker, the progenitor of the breed. She held a tough policy line within her project, and a group of her colleagues split off from her team and formed the Ragdoll Fanciers Club International in 1971.

Ragdolls are the biggest cats in the world. They have full and silky coat, which is not prone to matting or hairballs, and a strong and muscular body with a deep and roomy chest.
